There's Always Something at the Library

The following is information released to CNYW from Kimberly Gallegos at the Woodruff Memorial Library in La Junta

We have kicked off our fall programming this week! The calendar was posted on Facebook, and I hand delivered around 1,000 calendars at the end of August. Please take a look at the calendar to see that we have opportunities for all ages with heavy emphasis on youth programming. As you will see we have many ongoing partnerships with Bent’s Old Fort, Otero College International Relations, and The Fox Theatre. Please take note that we will have a special guest at Teen Activities Group (9/17) and Story Time (9/27). We are excited to have Cara Shillington visit WML! She is a Professor of Biology and is in La Junta researching our “Colorado Browns”.

The FREE LEGAL CLINIC is back thanks to Colorado Access to Justice Commission and the Colorado Lawyer Committee. Anyone who would like a 20 minute FREE virtual appointment with a volunteer attorney may call WML and schedule an appointment. (space is limited). This attorney is not legal representation.

Hands on History is starting their Fall Friday Class opportunity for children who are in 1st through 6th grade. This is an amazing opportunity for a structured day that is centered around history. Please see the attachment for more info.

Woodruff Memorial Library continues to be the buzzing hub of our community! We are grateful to serve our area and beyond.
