A man facing charges of attempted murder of a Rocky Ford Police officer is set to be in court this week for his pre-trial conference.
Twenty-two year old Adam Apodaca was in district court in Judge Samuel Vigil's courtroom in Otero County last month with his attorney, Alex Egri of the public defender's office for the hearing, but it was delayed until now. The reason given for the re-schedule was a missing piece of "discovery" which in legal terms is when both sides exchange information before trial so there are no surprises.

Apodaca was arrested by Rocky Ford Police on December 24th on charges of False Imprisonment, Harassment and Child Abuse pertaining to domestic violence according to a news release from the Rocky Ford Police Department. The news release also stated, "Adam violently attacked the officer who was later transported to Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center for medical treatment. Officer Mark Montano was treated for severe injuries to his face and a skull fracture.
