First Meeting at La Junta City Council's NEW time


(La Junta, CO) -- An hour earlier and a lot to do, city council in La Junta meets Monday at 6 pm instead of 7. The earlier time was decided upon at the last meeting. At Monday's meeting, council will roll up their sleeves to swear in newly appointed Ward 1 Councilman Damon Ramirez, a new Mayor Pro Tem will also be decided. The Mayor Pro Tem is responsible for Mayoral duties if the Mayor cannot perform them. It is also on the agenda to approve board members and appoint council representatives to the planning commission, recreation advisory board, and the retirement board. Meetings are open to the public in accordance with Colorado's Sunshine Law and you may attend. If you have something to ask the council or something you would like to bring to their attention you have the right to do so in the public comment section at the beginning of the meeting. If you cannot attend the meeting in person, La Junta city council broadcast the public meeting on Facebook on their City of La Junta Public Notice Event page. The meetings are held in the city of La Junta municipal building on Colorado avenue, upstairs in the auditorium.
