(Limon, CO) -- A breezy afternoon with warm temperatures made standing around waiting on a trucker convoy headed east on I-70 a little easier. Limon county residents hosted the flag waving, sign holding day on two overpasses in the Lincoln county town. It was like many sites along I-70 as truckers from Colorado prepared to leave to join up with an earlier convoy set to make an appearance in Washington, DC for a peaceful protest. Like the Canadian convoy, many truckers say they were just driving for freedom. Even as mask mandates are lifted and restrictions eased they said they were driving for freedom in general. The group Colorado Freedom Convoy 2022 states they want to see a push back on all mandates, the removal of the Emergency Powers Act and a restoration of the Constitution.

I thought the truckers had passed by us days ago on I25. Thank you Anne for your reporting. Think maybe we could have had a larger crowd if we (the counties) werent so disjointed. Just saw this today; too late, disappointed.
