(Lamar, CO) -- Expect a few more folks in attendance at tonight's (Monday) Lamar City Council meeting. The council is expected to vote tonight about what to do after 15th Judicial District Judge Mike Davidson invalidated November's vote for Marijuana retail business in Lamar.
According to KOAA, a lawsuit was filed following research done by resident Belinda Sturges that showed not enough signatures were collected for issues 2a and 2b to be on the ballot. The city charter states it must be a 15 percent of the number of people who vote din the last most recent election.
Supporters of 2a and 2b believe the council should put it back on the ballot and not require more signature collection. The council will meet in a special work session tonight (Monday) at 6 and then vote on the issue in their regular meeting set for 7pm. As always, the public is invited to attend the meeting.
