Colorado is Number One in the US for Car Thefts, According to Study

Colorado has the highest rate of motor vehicle theft at 708.4 per 100,000 people, making it the most vulnerable state for car theft.


- New Mexico ranks 2nd among the states with the highest motor vehicle theft rates, with a rate of 569.1 per 100,000, one of the highest in the nation.



- Nevada ranks 3rd  among the states with the highest motor vehicle theft rates, with a rate of 437.8 per 100,000, reflecting a significantly higher level of vehicle thefts than most other states.


- Maine has the lowest motor vehicle theft rate at 65.2 per 100,000 people, making it the safest state for vehicle thefts.
